Dr. Simerville was raised in Colorado Springs. He studied anthropology and biology at the University of Notre Dame. He graduated cum laude from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1997, where he was elected to the honorary medical society, Alpha Omega Alpha in his junior year and received the William C. Maxted award for Urology excellence.
Dr. Simerville served 2 years as a flight surgeon for a B-52 squadron before completing his urology residency at Georgetown University Hospital (2000-2005). He has submitted and published several articles.
Dr. Simerville served as Chief of Urology at Elmendorf AFB for eight years after graduating residency. Upon completing his commitment, he transitioned into private practice and currently serves as Chief of the Department of Surgery at Mat-Su Regional Hospital. He is trained in robotic and minimally invasive surgical techniques. His practice is not limited to any subspecialty and he enjoys seeing and treating both male and female patients. His particular interests are kidney stones, prostate disease and incontinence as well as male fertility.
Dr. Simerville is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology (board-certified) and is a member of numerous medical and professional associations.
Dr. Simerville loves Alaska and all the opportunities it provides. In the summer he enjoys fishing, hunting and hiking while the winter brings skiing of all kinds (skate skiing, alpine and backcountry). You can find him participating in the sport of curling to help fight the winter doldrums. He is also a fledgling banjo player.
