Community Involvement

We have been a member of the Alaskan community for over 20 years.  To us, community involvement has the power to bring positive measurable change to both the communities in which we live and to our employees.  Being involved with our community is all about building relationships: with community leaders, with local nonprofits, with area businesses to positively address local issues and bring long lasting change.  As a locally owned company, we feel it is our duty, and also privilege, to serve our community.   It also gives our employees the opportunity to get involved; we encourage our employees to volunteer in the community.

Our community involvement examples include in-kind and financial donations, employee volunteer days, enduring nonprofit partnerships, and more.   Below are just a few of the community events and partnerships that we proudly support.

Run With a Cause

The Alaska Men’s Run is an annual event held in Anchorage. This event is the one of the oldest activities within the State raising funds and awareness by using the race entry fees to fund educational activities, health awareness, promote early detection, and provide financial aid to men and agencies fighting prostate and testicular cancer.

Anchorage Wine and Food Festival

Beginning as an intimate wine-pairing dinner in a local doctor’s home, the Anchorage Wine & Food Festival has ascended to become one of Alaska’s premier philanthropic events and is the most significant annual fundraiser benefiting the American Cancer Society in our state. Thanks to the generosity of its supporters, the Anchorage Wine & Food Festival consistently has less than 10% expenses and is regularly recognized for having one of the lowest expense ratios nationwide for an American Cancer Society event of this size.
