Education
Dr. Tieva graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage 2002 with a B.S. He received his medical degree from Creighton School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska in 2011. Dr Tieva’s training included a year of general surgery internship as well as the first year of general surgery residency. He completed his residency in Urology at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston from 2014-2018.
Experience
Dr. Tieva joined the U.S. Army after graduation from medical school in 2011. While in the U.S. Army he completed his post graduate medical training then served as a military urologist before resigning his commission honorably at the rank of LTC June. He treats general adult urology with an interest in robotic-assisted surgeries, kidney stones and benign prostatic hypertrophy.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology. He is also a member of the American Urological Association.
Personal
Dr. Tieva joined Alaska Urology in the summer of 2023. He has been an Alaskan Resident since attending elementary and middle school in Fairbanks. He is returning to Alaska to be closer to family. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities both during the summer and winter time.
